Commissioner’s Fees
Why are there fees payable to the Commissioner of Accounts and the Clerk of Court?
The Commissioner of Accounts’ office is privately maintained and receives no funding from the State or County. The Commissioner is responsible for the payment of all expenses of the Commissioner’s office. All fees due to the Commissioner are set by the Henrico Circuit Court and not by the Commissioner.

The Clerk of the Henrico Circuit Court is required by statute to charge filing fees upon the filing of any document. This includes the inventories and accounts filed by fiduciaries.
Commissioner of Accounts’ and Clerk’s Fees
The fees payable on Conservatorship inventories to the Commissioner of Accounts are based on the size of the estate under the conservator’s control, including real estate over which the conservator has the power of sale, but not including projected income. The fee are as follows:

50,001 – 200,000 $200.00
200,001 – 500,000 $275.00
Above – 500,000 $350.00
Fees of the clerk of court for filing of an inventory are dependent on the number of pages filed by the conservator and are as follows:
1 – 10 pages …………………………..$18.00
11 – 30 pages………………………….$32.00
31 or more pages……………………..$52.00
The fees associated with the filing of each Conservator’s account to the Commissioner of Accounts is based on the value of the estate and is currently calculated as follows:

The Clerk’s filing fees are:
